Help your workplace stay protected this winter with flu vaccines

With the colder months ahead, now’s the ideal time to think about what you can do to support the health and wellbeing of your workforce.

Everywhen’s Employee Benefits team has recently launched our 2026 Flu Vaccination Proposition, offering you a simple and effective way to protect your people during the upcoming flu season.

Why it matters

Seasonal flu can have a significant impact on your business, affecting employee wellbeing while also creating operational challenges through increased absence, reduced productivity and increased pressure on teams.

  • It’s estimated that 4.8 million UK working days are lost specifically to flu each year, making it a major driver of workplace absenteeism¹

  • Flu has an estimated economic impact of £644m in the UK²

  • A large proportion of the core workforce (18–64 healthy adults) are not routinely eligible, meaning they remain unprotected and workplaces carry avoidable risk

  • More than half of UK working adults report working for at least some of the time they have influenza, or care for a dependent with influenza. During this time, on average they’re 35 - 46% less productive at work³

  • The impact can be critical to SME success where the workforce is fewer than 49 employees. SMEs make up 99.85% of all UK businesses⁴

  • While flu vaccine effectiveness varies each season, it can reduce the risk of serious flu-related illness by 30% to 70%, and in 2024/25 was estimated to have prevented up to 120,000 hospital admissions in England⁵

A proactive solution

Workplace flu vaccination programmes offer a proactive, preventative solution. By helping protect your employees against seasonal flu, you can support wellbeing, reduce the spread of infection in the workplace, and strengthen your business resilience during the winter months.
