What does travel agents insurance cover?

Public liability cover for travel agents

Cover to protect the insured against damages being sought for death or injury or damage to property against tour operators or travel agents. This cover includes liability that attaches to the operator for all component parts of a package as defined under “Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tour Regulations”. Our policy can include a public liability limit of indemnity of £2 million (with the option to increase up to £25 million).

Professional indemnity insurance for travel agents Our professional indemnity cover is here to provide protection against any claims for compensation by dissatisfied customers where injury or property damage is not involved and there are allegations of an error or omission on the part of the operator or their third-party suppliers. Our travel office combined policy is designed to protect the tangible assets of your business and your potential liability exposures to the package travel regulations. A number of areas which you are at risk from include, but are not limited to:

  • Negligence of your suppliers

  • Injury

  • Disease or illness suffered by your passengers whilst on your holiday

  • Claims arising out of mistakes made during the holiday arrangements

  • Property loss or damage

Public Liability, with limits of indemnity from £2m to £25m. This is to protect your business against damages being sought for death or injury or damage to property. We include liability that attaches to the operator for all component parts of a Package as defined under “Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tour Regulations 1992”. Cover may include:

  • Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide defence costs included

  • Crisis costs and expenses

  • Code Civile extension – to comply with French law

  • Liability arising out of the use of all vehicles, vessels or aircraft outside of the policyholders control.

  • Worldwide Jurisdiction (USA/Canada costs inclusive)

  • No injury excess

Professional Indemnity - with £1,000,000 indemnity limit for any one loss. This cover is designed to provide protection to you for any claims for compensation by dissatisfied customers, where injury or property damage is not involved, and there are allegations of an error or omission on the part of the operator or their agents. Cover can extend to include Sale of Insurance Extension if required.

Optional Covers available include:

  • All risks for items away from the premises

  • Group personal accident for travel staff

  • Money limit of £4000 in transit or in premises during working hours. Includes tickets (up to £5000)

  • Employers' liability Limit of Indemnity £10,000,000

  • Public liability limit of indemnity £2,000,000 and professional indemnity limit of indemnity £1,000,000 both on an any one loss basis incl. whilst acting as organiser (subject to limits of up to 10% or 25% of turnover)

  • Crisis management – costs involved in dealing with a crisis included as standard within PL/products cover

  • Theft by employee cover provided as standard up to £10,000
