5 standout sustainable luxury brands

Luxury doesn’t mean what it used to. Gone are the days when it was all about excess and exclusivity, with little thought for much else. In 2026, fashion has a different face, with more and more brands shaping their ethos with the environment in mind.

But with so many out there, it can be tricky to know where to start. That’s why we’ve pulled out five of the most standout sustainable designers – from swimwear to eyewear to organic cottons, we’ve got it covered.

Ninety Percent

Any list of the most sustainable luxury designers would be remiss without Ninety Percent. So named because they give 90% of their profits to charity and their garment makers, the London-based fashion house takes a thoughtful, people-first approach to design. The Ninety Percent aesthetic is all about leaning into minimalism at its most stylish and eco-conscious. All of its collections are completely vegan and the brand prefers organic cotton, making it an easy choice for those trying to build the basics for their capsule wardrobe1.

Away That Day

With summer around the corner, look no further than Away That Day for your sustainable swimwear. Founded in London by Ingemae Kotze, the brand creates its pieces using plastic waste and discarded fishing nets recovered from the ocean. Mix and match flattering, easy-to-wear styles, from swappable two pieces to their signature one piece silhouette. Once yours is looking a bit tired, use their ‘Recycle Your Swim’ initiative to stop your swimwear from heading to landfill2.

Gabriela Hearst

New York-based designer Gabriela Hearst has long been a frontrunner in sustainable luxury, even hosting the first carbon-neutral runway show back in 2019. Gabriella ensures the sustainability of her brand by carefully controlling the production. Lots of the wool used by the brand originates from her very own family-owned farm in Uruguay. Plus, at least 25% of their garments come from ‘dead stock’ – unused materials that would otherwise go to landfill – while the designs themselves are a tasteful twist of Uruguayan prints and sharp tailoring3.

Sheep Inc

Offering New Zealand merino wool knitwear in the form of everyday staples like hoodies and jumpers, Sheep Inc takes traceability to a new level. Every garment comes with a digital tag linked to the very sheep whose wool made your clothing. And it doesn’t stop there – Sheep Inc will tell you how your garment was made and give you regular updates about how your sheep is doing. If you love your clothes too much and they end up looking a bit worse for wear, you can also benefit from its lifetime repair service4.

Bird

Bird stands out as the UK’s first B-Corp approved eyewear brand – and they’re carbon-negative, too. Their frames strike a nice balance between style and wearability, with geometric shapes and bold colours hallmarks of their collection. Bird only uses renewable materials like eco-friendly bio acetate and recycled steel to make their frames. Beyond that, their partnership with SolarAid helps support families in Africa to access solar lighting.
