Cover for both new and established gyms
Experience tells us that long-standing businesses are lower risk. However, no matter how long you’ve been trading, we can offer advice to help you get the right cover and reduce your risks. For example, did you know you’ll need to have your lifting equipment inspected periodically to meet health and safety regulations? We can help you arrange this inspection service. Naturally, all premiums and rates are dependent on risk and business factors.
Gym equipment and stock insurance
We know that the modern gym isn’t just a few dumbbells and machines. Modern equipment often links to computers and office equipment, with sound and audio-visual equipment to create the right mood and fitness environment. We can cover stock (e.g. protein shakes and supplements) as well as kitchen and health care equipment. The good news is, provided you tell us about everything you’d like covered, we can cover a huge range of contents under this package policy.
Build your policy around your business
We build in a degree of flexibility so that you can get the right cover levels for you from the outset. If for example you start offering new treatments or activities, you will need to update us.
However, if you’re taking on more staff or your turnover has increased, we will review this at renewal and update your policy then. We can tailor cover to include activities away from your gym provided you give us full details when you set up your policy and cover is agreed.
When insuring your buildings and contents, this must be based on the current replacement values as new, to avoid 'under-insurance' in the event of a claim.
Employers' liability insurance for both full and part time staff
As a gym owner you will quite likely employ a mix of full and part time/temporary staff to run your classes and training sessions. If this is the case, you can rest assured that your staff, as an employer will be covered under the employers' liability section of cover. The standard limit for employers' liability is £10m and meets your legal responsibilities.
