No, our policy enables you to treat all ages, from babies to centenarians.

Which you need depends very much on the specificities of your business. Employers’ liability insurance is necessary if you employ other staff as part of your company – so if you’re a sole trader, you don’t need to worry about this one. Public liability insurance protects you against accidents that may happen, implicating a client or member of the public.

This includes accidents ranging from something as small as a spilt drink over a piece of equipment, to serious bodily injury. Professional liability insurance is broader coverage which usually includes: public liability, products liability, professional indemnity, and libel and slander.

Please note that full terms, conditions, and exclusions can be found in the policy wording, a copy of which is available through the on-line quotation process. Please contact us to discuss should you require further information on this matter.

If you provide advice to your clients at a fee, you may need professional indemnity insurance. Cover is available from between £100,000 and £3,000,000 - but remember to ensure that all your staff are covered by your policy. If you work from home, you may need home business insurance.

If you prefer to spread the cost of your annual premium, we offer a quick and easy direct debit scheme. When you choose to pay premiums in instalments, you will be paying under a Premium Finance plan.

We will give you full details of the finance provider, and the additional cost of finance, when we provide you with your payment plan quotation. This will include the total payable, the number of monthly instalments and the cost of each, as well as the representative APR.

If you would like to know more about our monthly payment option, please visit our dedicated Direct Debit page.

Complementary therapist insurance can include several types of cover to help protect you, your clients and your livelihood. Here’s what’s typically available. Public liability and professional indemnity insurance are combined in one policy. If you need employers or products liability cover, these can be added as additional policies to meet your needs.

Public liability

Public liability insurance protects you if a client or member of the public is accidentally injured, or their property is accidentally damaged, because of negligence arising from your work. For example, if a client slips on your premises, this cover can help with legal defence costs to defend against such allegations and will pay compensation costs if you are at fault.

See policy wording and insurance product information document.

Professional indemnity

If a client claims that your professional advice or treatment caused them harm, professional indemnity insurance can cover the cost of defending allegations of breach of professional duty and will pay compensation if you are at fault It’s an important protection for anyone offering professional services or guidance.

See policy wording and insurance product information document.

Treatment risk

Treatment risk cover is specific to therapists. It protects you if a client suffers an injury directly resulting from a treatment you’ve provided, such as muscle strain or an allergic reaction to oils or products.

Equipment cover

If you rely on portable tools, equipment or devices for your practice, tool cover can help pay to repair or replace them if they’re lost, stolen or damaged. This can include massage tables, oils, towels or electrical therapy equipment.

See policy wording and insurance product information document.

Commercial legal expenses cover

This is optional cover for legal costs if you face a dispute.

Personal accident cover

If a person dies or is seriously injured in an accident, personal accident cover provides you with financial support.

Personal accident insurance provides a lump-sum payout in the event of death, injury, or disability resulting from an accident. The payout can be used to cover medical expenses, replace lost income due to inability to work, and other related costs.

Complementary therapist insurance is designed for anyone offering holistic, alternative or complementary treatments. Whether you work full-time, part-time or are just starting out, it helps protect you from the unexpected. It’s suitable for:

  • Massage therapists — Including mobile or clinic-based practitioners

  • Reflexologists and Reiki practitioners — Whether you work from home or visit clients

  • Aromatherapists, acupuncturists and holistic healers — Providing natural or energy-based therapies

  • Freelancers and sole traders — Managing your own bookings and clients

  • Student or newly qualified therapists — Where eligible, cover can start from your first day of practice

If you offer more than one type of therapy, Everywhen can arrange cover that reflects your full range of treatments, helping you stay protected as your business grows.

Even with the best training and care, things don’t always go to plan. A client could have an allergic reaction to a product, experience discomfort after treatment or claim that your advice caused them harm. In these situations, having the right insurance can help protect you financially and professionally.

Complementary therapist insurance gives you peace of mind that if something goes wrong, you have support in place. It can cover legal and compensation costs, helping you focus on your work rather than worrying about unexpected claims.

Some therapy associations, venues and client contracts may also require proof of insurance before you can practise or rent space. Having suitable cover in place shows professionalism and care for your clients, helping build trust and confidence in your services.

The cost of complementary therapist insurance depends on a few key factors. These include the type of therapies you offer, where you work and the size of your business. A mobile massage therapist, for example, might have different needs to someone based in a clinic.

At Everywhen, we’ll tailor your policy to match your specific circumstances, so you only pay for the cover you need. You can choose between monthly or annual payments, giving you flexibility to manage costs in a way that suits your budget.

Getting a quote is quick and straightforward. Simply tell us a few details about your work and we’ll provide a tailored price online, with optional extras available if you need additional protection.

With decades of experience supporting therapists across the UK, we understand the unique risks that come with offering complementary treatments. Our specialist advisors can help you find the right balance of protection, so you can focus on helping your clients, not worrying about cover. We offer:

  • Flexible policies tailored to the therapies you provide

  • Local-based support from a friendly, knowledgeable team

Most therapists need public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Together, they cover accidents, injuries and claims of negligence linked to your treatments or advice.

It covers accidents like a client slipping, but treatment risk cover protects you if someone is accidentally injured during a treatment due to your negligence.

Public liability insurance covers against claims from clients for accidental injury, death, or property damage occurring in connection with business activities, paying for compensation, legal fees, and defence costs. It protects against incidents like a customer slipping on your premises or a client's property being damaged during a service. Professional indemnity protects you if your treatment or advice causes harm. Many therapists choose both.

It’s not always required by law, but many venues and professional bodies ask for it. Having cover also reassures clients that you’re protected.

Everywhen can arrange mobile or home-based therapist insurance, tailored to how and where you work.

If you practice on clients while training, student insurance can protect you from third party claims of negligence.

The price of a policy depends on your therapies and level of cover.
